Using milk alternatives to help you get the calcium and protein you need?
What do you need to know:
Not all milk alternatives (oat, rice, soy, etc.) are the same and they will differ in nutrition value from milk to milk, brand to brand
Not all will be fortified with calcium
Protein is usually not found in your rice, almond, or oat milk in large quantities. Soy milks tend to have the highest amount of protein in the milk alternatives space
Shake the carton/container of the milk if you have bought a fortified version (the fortificants e.g. calcium, tend to sink to the bottom)
